Wissekerke Castle in the municipality of Kruibeke has been renovated and given a completely new experience trail.
This trail focuses on the family that owned the castle in the 19th century. Count Philippe Vilain XIIII (1778-1856) and countess Zoé de Feltz (1780-1853) converted the medieval castle of Wissekerke into a stylish, fashionable castle. They gave it an substantial update according to the trends of that period. Now more than hundred years later, the work has continued in and around the castle.
Through secret corridors, charming balconies, a chic salon or a desk to retreat to, visitors experience the castle. An eclectic building in which each room breathes a different time from Belgian history, with Zoé’s life story in particular.
