The Nassaus of Breda, the permanent exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum Breda, offers a surprising look at the city’s history and the Nassaus.
Visitors find out all about well-kept secret, namely that Breda has everything to do with the intriguing family history of the Orange-Nassaus, the current Dutch royal family.
As a visitor, you take a time travel through three centuries: the period of rise, prosperity and decline of Breda. The centuries are outlined through historical objects, art from the museum’s own collection, loans and the stories behind them. A journey of discovery to Breda, or the breeding ground of ideas that live on in today’s Netherlands.
