Museum Haus der Geschichte in Bonn (DE) has been telling the history of Germany from 1945 to the present day since its opening in 1994. The permanent exhibition has been completely renewed for the first time since the opening, under the motto ‘Du bist Teil der Geschichte’.

The new exhibition retains the story of Germany after the Second World War and now also provides space for recent history and current themes. This makes the museum flexible in responding to developments of recent decades and the dynamics of society.

Bruns was responsible for the realisation of three of the four zones: zone 2 covering the period from 1949–1989, zone 3 from 1989–1990 and zone 4 from 1990 to the present day. Within these zones, Bruns realised, among other things, large-scale wall construction, display cases and the mounting of the ‘specials’: extraordinary objects.
