We reinstalled the traveling exhibition ‘High Tech Romans’ at the new location Landesmuseum Mainz in Germany.
The Romains were very important to Mainz. Therefore the exhibition fits perfectly on this location. From 12.04.2022 until 15.01.2023 the exhibition is open to the public.
Every day we encounter numerous technologies, devices or phenomena in our daily lives that can be traced back to remarkable developments in Roman times, like; underfloor heating, wellness baths and fruit ice. The exhibition ‘High Tech Romans” shows how the Romans achieved technical masterpieces 2000 years ago without computer, motors or electricity.
This practical exhibition for young and old invites visitors not only to look at the ingenious inventions of Roman times, but also to try them out for themselves. Visitors can become active themselves: At the practical stations on various topics, they can, for example, plan a Roman city, make water flow uphill, build a bridge or send Roman short messages.
The exhibition is realized in cooperation with Museon Den Haag (NL), Museum Het Valkhof Nijmegen (NL), Technopolis Mechelen (B) and LVR-Landes Museum Bonn (D).
