During the avant-première on Friday 17 September, the doors of the brand new visitor- and meeting centre Tabloo were open for the first time.
Tabloo takes you on a voyage of discovery and makes the invisible visible, a unique insight into the world of radioactive waste and radioactivity.
After 20 years of dreaming, sketching and building, the time had finally come. The doors opened for the first time, a moment that many people had been looking forward to, including the residents. In fact, the project was partly achieved through the participation of the local population. Some seventy volunteers from Dessel and Mol, divided into working groups, have contributed to all aspects of the centre over the past three years. In short, it was not only us who were eager to admire the final result, but all the neighbours, partners and parties involved.
We loved it to see the end result of all the hard work! Thank you to NIRAS for the trust, the pleasant cooperation and the fantastic assignment.
In spring 2022 the doors will open wide to the public. It is well worth a visit to Tabloo!
