TÜBİTAK, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, is the leading agency responsible for the management, funding, and conducting of research in Turkey.
Based on the anticipation that science centers would assume quite a critical role in the society in terms of making the scientific culture widespread, TÜBİTAK aims to support the establishment of these centers in our country, to increase their numbers in years to come, and supports science center projects of local administrations in this regard. Activities for the aim of establishment of science centers in all provinces by 2023 continue in cooperation with local administrations. TÜBİTAK has already started to reach out the aims with 5 great projects in Turkey; Konya, Kocaeli, Kayseri, Bursa and Elazığ. Konya, Kocaeli and Kayseri Projects are in the fabrication process, the design process for Bursa Project will be finalized early next year and TÜBİTAK will start the design phase for the newest project Elazığ soon.
At this moment we are really busy with the production of two new exhibition galleries for Konya Science Center Project: ‘Our Universe (300m²)’ and ‘New Horizons (300m²)’.
The exhibition Our Universe explores the frontiers of the cosmos, as well as the technological achievements that have enabled us to discover its wonders and it to begin to call it our home.
New Horizons is about new innovations and technologies that have the potential to bring groundbreaking improvements to human life in the process of redefining our future. On the horizon of new technologies are several fields making rapid strides towards innovations that can dramatically change our lives. This exhibition presents the basic definitions, present capabilities, and potential futures of three of the leading fields of technology: Robots, Materials, and Information Technology. By interacting with the latest examples of these cutting-edge technologies, visitors may catch a glimpse of a world to come.
Exhibition galleries: Our World (600 m2), Basic Steps (300m2) and Our Bodies (400m2) have already been fabricated and opened for visitors in Konya Science Center. Bruns was already responsible for the production of the Basic Steps and Our World exhibitions.
