Bruns is working on a new exhibition project in Denmark for the Natural History Museum of Denmark (NHMD).

The installation phase has started, which means that all components are leaving our workshop and are being transported to the client’s location. This time in a particularly special way!

We have reached an important milestone: for the first time, a project has been carried out entirely using a 100% electric transport solution. With the deployment of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 and in collaboration with BREYTNER Zero Emission Transport, the entire journey was completed emission-free. This represents a concrete step towards more sustainable and future-proof ways of working.

From workshop to museum: fully electric

After 3.5 days on the road, 4 charging stops, 2 ferry crossings and a distance of approximately 1,300 kilometres, the exhibition components arrived safely in Copenhagen. The entire journey was completed electrically and executed with the utmost care required for museum collections.

The route ran from Bergeijk through northern Germany towards Denmark. Thanks to the large battery capacity, the transport proceeded smoothly and efficiently. An additional advantage: in Germany, the eActros is exempt from toll charges (Maut), making electric long-distance transport not only more sustainable but also economically attractive. Of course, there were also learnings along the way, such as the limited availability of charging facilities for e-trucks, but these were resolved professionally and flexibly.

Arrival at the Natura; History Museum of Denmark

On days three and four, the transport reached its final destination. The electric truck completed the entire route without any issues, including charging moments, ferry crossings and varying road conditions. The goods were unloaded on site using an electric forklift, after which the truck returned to the Netherlands completely emission-free.

This project clearly demonstrates that zero-emission long-distance transport is already possible today: reliable, efficient and better for our environment.

We would like to thank BREYTNER Zero Emission Transport for the pleasant collaboration and professional execution. This successful transport underlines that sustainability and high-quality museum projects go hand in hand perfectly.
