Based on a unique "learn and design build" development process, we are working with a highly-driven team on the development of the brand new Experimenta in Heilbronn (Germany). It is a very intensive project that proudly allows us to fill in the largest part of the interactive galleries.
Surprising, inspiring and thought provoking, with open questions for the public. The innovative Elementa aims to become the most innovative science centre of Germany. Visitors will be inspired and challenged to experiment on the basis of touch, research and building. Individually and collectively.
The gallery "Stoff Wechsel" will become a colourful world in which the characteristics of the various materials will be tested in surprising ways. Eyecatchers such as a crashed Audi, a true black house and an enlarged virus will be the décor of this unique themed exhibition. We are also working hard on developing our second themed gallery "Welt Bild". Here the visitor will experience how scientists comprehend the chaotic world around us with the help of models and mental methods. All kinds of world domains are brought up by means of various tools: from the micro-world with quantum mechanics to the macro-world that contains the entire universe or even multiverse. The journey through the "atelier des wissens" takes place in true explorer style and visitors will view science differently at the end of their journey.
The detailed design of "Stoff Wechsel" (with design of NorthernLight) has been completed and we have started on the engineering and production part. We expect a final design for "Welt Bild" at the end of March and then we will continue to work on engineering. For the first time in the Experimenta project we are following a process-based model in which we go over the entire chain of the production process in different batches per exhibit, with focus and attention of the entire team (internal and external). This new work method allows us to finish the first exhibits in June 2017, while the delivery and installation are only planned for the first six months of 2018. By means of a testing period that will take a couple of months, the opening is planned somewhere in the fall of 2018.
The new "Learn" method is aimed at organising processes differently and making them more efficient. Emphasis is placed on optimizing every part of a project which will eliminate wasting resources. This way we can increase productivity even more, with less effort, less capital and less time. As a result, added value is created that will benefit the product quality and the result for our clients. The first reactions from our organisation are very positive, and the first results are very promising.
