Together with Platvorm (design) and Duinzand (concept development), Bruns took part in the fate of the transformation of the Mauritshuis into a visitors' centre.
The plan was presented live to a committee and was made visible to visitors to the Mauritshuis and residents of the municipality of Moerdijk in February. After visitors and residents were given the opportunity to vote, the committee made the selection. Bruns' plan in collaboration with Platvorm en Duinzand was the winner!
As of the tourist season 2021, the Mauritshuis will be the visitor centre of the Zuiderwaterlinie and the Defence Line of Willemstad. The life-size statue of Prince Maurice, founder and first occupant of the building, will interactively welcome visitors.
Alderman Danny Dingemans explains the choice for the plan: "The overall picture of Bruns-Platvorm will provide a well-designed Mauritshuis, in which the old historical stories of the Mauritshuis, the Defence Line of Willemstad and the Zuiderwaterlinie will be told in an interesting contemporary way through characters. This will give the visitor the feeling that he or she is actually there".
